Kathy Roemer, M.Ed.
Program Developer. Advocate. Parent.
Kathy Roemer, M.Ed., founded Company Keepers™ by combining decades of professional, educational, and personal experience with a deep commitment to helping autistic individuals develop confidence, independence, and meaningful social communication skills.
Kathy earned a Master of Education in Special Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. She has worked as a paraprofessional in public schools, a job coach helping individuals develop workplace and independent living skills, and has spent decades supporting autistic individuals and their families.
As the parent of an autistic son who grew up at a time when little was understood about Level 1 autism (formerly referred to as Asperger's Syndrome or high-functioning autism), Kathy often had to develop her own strategies and approaches to help him build independence, confidence, and practical life skills. Those experiences, combined with her professional education and years of working with individuals with disabilities, became the foundation for Company Keepers™.
Today, Company Keepers™ reflects Kathy's belief that autistic individuals should be treated with dignity, respect, and age-appropriate expectations — while being given opportunities to develop confidence, social communication skills, and greater independence in a welcoming, supportive environment.
